These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the KinTrades platform, operated by KinTech, LLC. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

About KinTrades

KinTrades is a skills-first employment platform that connects skilled trade workers with employers. The platform uses structured profiles, skill demonstration through media uploads, reliability scoring, and algorithmic matching to support hiring decisions in the trades.

KinTrades is not a staffing agency, employer, or job board. We provide a matching and discovery tool — employment relationships are between workers and employers directly.

Account Creation

To use KinTrades, you must:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Maintain only one account per person or company
• Keep your account credentials secure

You may sign in using Microsoft, Google, GitHub, or email verification. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Worker Responsibilities

If you use KinTrades as a worker, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your skills, experience, certifications, and availability
• Upload only photos and videos of your own work that you have the right to share
• Not misrepresent your qualifications, safety training, or work history
• Keep your profile and availability information current
• Respond professionally to employer communications

Employer Responsibilities

If you use KinTrades as an employer, you agree to:

• Post only legitimate job opportunities with accurate descriptions and requirements
• Comply with all applicable employment laws, including anti-discrimination laws
• Use worker contact information only for hiring-related purposes
• Respect worker privacy settings and not circumvent platform controls
• Not use the platform for any purpose other than legitimate skilled trades hiring

Content and Media

Your Content: You retain ownership of all content you upload to KinTrades, including profile information, photos, and videos of your work.

License to KinTrades: By uploading content, you grant KinTech, LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and process your content on the platform for the purpose of providing our services. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

Content Standards: All uploaded media is subject to content moderation. We may remove content that is inappropriate, misleading, or violates these Terms.

Platform Matching and Scoring

KinTrades uses algorithmic matching to connect workers with job opportunities based on skills, experience, reliability, and availability. Match scores and reliability scores are tools to support hiring decisions.

SMS Text Messaging

KinTrades may send SMS text messages to users who provide a phone number on the platform. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive transactional messages including:

• Phone verification codes
• Job offer notifications
• Reminders to complete time-sensitive hiring benefit forms

Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your hiring activity; typically 1-5 messages per month.

Message and Data Rates: Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless carrier for details.

Opt-Out: You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a confirmation message and no further messages will be sent unless you opt back in.

Consent: Consent to receive SMS messages is not required as a condition of using KinTrades or purchasing any goods or services. You may use the platform without SMS notifications.

Supported Carriers: Messages may be sent via Twilio. Compatible with all major US carriers.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Create fake profiles or misrepresent your identity
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
• Spam or send unsolicited communications through the platform
• Scrape, copy, or extract data from the platform
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with platform operations
• Use the platform for any illegal purpose

Workforce Development Partnerships

KinTrades partners with workforce development organizations to support placement outcomes. If you participate in the platform through a workforce program partnership, anonymized or aggregated data about your engagement and outcomes may be shared with the partnering organization for grant compliance and reporting purposes. Your personal information is shared only with your knowledge as part of the program.

Account Suspension and Termination

By You: You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your profile and associated data will be removed within 30 days.

By Us: KinTech, LLC may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or are inactive for an extended period. We will provide notice when possible.

Limitation of Liability

KinTrades is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. KinTech, LLC is not liable for:

• Employment decisions made by employers or workers using the platform
• The accuracy of information provided by other users
• Any damages arising from your use of the platform
• Service interruptions or data loss

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KinTech, LLC's total liability for any claim related to the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the platform (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Virginia.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. For material changes, we will provide notice through the platform or via email.
